Hi. Welcome to the Idle Threads website. We’re a bunch of music makers connected by family and long-term friendship. This means rich, blended vocals and intuitive, distinctive harmonies from performers who know each other well and sing together frequently.

New Album: Double Weave
Idle Threads has released its third, double album titled Double Weave. It features rich, tight harmonies and includes covers of artists such as Carole King, Judie Tzuke and Bob Dylan. Two tracks are novel compositions.

Debut Album: Laying It Out
Idle Threads’ debut album, Laying It Out, also demonstrates beautiful vocal harmonies and instrumental work, including covers and traditional pieces. One track, Narrow Thread of Land, was composed by Idle Threads’ very own Ginette, and is described here in her own words.
Rough at the Edges
A selection of tracks from our second album. This was released in February 2022 after a long gap due to Covid lockdowns during which we were not able to meet to rehearse. So we were a little ‘rough around the edges’.
